Kolombido

About the logo

Kolombido is the Esperanto word for the offspring of a dove (from the Latin columba meaning a dove, and Esperanto suffix -ido meaning the offspring). I chose this because much of the code in Kolombio was originally used for a website called Dove’s Guide. The English word for a young dove is squab, which I didn’t like: kolombido sounded much more poetical.

The dove in the icon was a public domain image of a peace dove that I found on Wikimedia Commons, while the background is the PHP roundel. This roundel is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence, which allows it to be reused in derivative works providing they are licensed under the same licence. The font is Noto Sans, to which I added a shadow.
